For this commission for Ellen, Susan wanted a colourful, artistic mural of a garden scene to brighten up her inner city balcony in St James, London. They had an antique mirror with a window on the wall, which she thought could be playful to have a scene as though looking into the window of another apartment on a couple as they enjoy their breakfast. Ellen drew from the styles of painters’ Matisse and Bonnard for inspiration for the garden, and pop-art for the window.
